The Statesman (India)

The Statesman is an English-language national daily newspaper in India with a circulation of approximately 180,000 copies.

The Statesman was founded in Kolkata , India in 1875 as the successor to The Friend of India newspaper, founded in 1818 . In 1934 the Englishman newspaper (founded in 1821) was merged with The Statesman . The newspaper has also been published in Delhi in its own edition since 1931 .
