The trees

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Trees is the name of a villa in the Scottish town of Barrhead in the East Renfrewshire council area . In 1980 the building was included in the Scottish List of Monuments in Category B.

History and description

The building is in a small wood on the north-west edge of Barrhead. It was probably built around 1760. Today the villa houses the clubhouse of the Fereneze Golf Club and is often referred to as such. The associated golf course is adjacent to the west.

The main building of The Trees has three floors. The facades are plastered with Harl in the traditional style of western Scotland . The building edges are decorated with corner stones and the window openings are set off with bezels . At the rear is a two-story wing, the flat roof of which is framed by battlements. The main building, however, ends with a hipped roof . In 1978 and 1979, various structural changes to the interior were requested.
