The Wildest! is a live album by Louis Prima , released in 1956 on the Capitol Records label . The producer was Voyle Gilmore.

To the album

The album was recorded live in the studio with Louis Primate's wife Keely Smith and saxophonist Sam Butera and is considered Louis Primate's career highlight. He himself said of the album: “I made hits, but I never liked them. But everything is right here. ”People have often tried to imitate the sound of the record, most recently Brian Setzer with a cover of Jump, Jive, An 'Wail .

criticism

Because of the three songs You Rascal You , Basin Street Blues and When It's Sleepy Time Down South , the album is often referred to as an "Italian-styled imitator of Louis Armstrong ".
