Theater aspic
The Aspik Theater from Hildesheim is one of the most important independent theater groups in Germany. Since 1988 more than 30 pieces, mostly self-developed, have been created. The Aspik Theater has made a name for itself primarily with international co-productions and often works in non-theater spaces. The director Uli Jäckle has been the artistic head of the group since 1992 .
The most famous performances include the performance of Woyzeck from 1998, which was performed in an industrial hall fifty meters deep . With this performance, the theater won the audience award at the Lower Saxony theater festival "ARENA" in 1999. In addition, Aspik staged the play Home & Away in 2000 at the Expo and in 2004 Patrioten im Herz , which takes a critical look at patriotism .
