Theater Prize of the City of Munich
The Theater Prize of the City of Munich has been awarded at irregular intervals since 1992 and every three years since 1999 - alternating with the Dance Prize and the Music Prize - by the Munich City Council. The theater prize is awarded to personalities or ensembles "who have their place of residence or their place of work within Munich or whose work is closely linked to the theater life in Munich". The right of nomination lies with a commission appointed by the city council, consisting of expert jurors, city councilors and the previous year's award winner. The award is endowed with 10,000 euros.
