Theiss valley

The Theiss valley is a landscape in the Forest Carpathians and is located in the Maramures region on the border between Romania and Ukraine .
The valley is named after the river Tisza of the same name (Rum. Tisa , ukr. Тиса / Tyssa ), which forms the border river between the Romanian district of Maramureș and the Ukrainian Oblast of Transcarpathia .
The main Romanian city in this area is Sighetu Marmației .
