Theobald von Zollikofer (* 1828 in St. Gallen ; † October 19, 1862 in Graz ) was a Swiss geologist.

Zollikofer came from the respected Swiss Zollikofer von Altenklingen family and initially studied in Munich from 1849 to become an engineer, where he was particularly concerned with mathematics. In 1851 he moved to the Academy of Lausanne, where he turned to geology under the influence of Adolph von Morlot (1820–1867). For some time he was tutor to a wealthy family in Italy with properties in Lombardy and Venice, exploring the geology of the Po Valley and the Lombardy Alps. In 1857 he was back in Lausanne and was inspector of the geognostic-montanistic association of Styria (a post previously held by his teacher Morlot). He published in particular on the geology of Lower Styria and mapped there. In 1861 he was called to Geneva to give lectures alongside Carl Vogt . When he returned to Styria, he fell ill and died soon after.
