Theodor Asholt

Theodor Asholt (born May 8, 1890 in Friedrichsdorf ; † January 30, 1969 in Echternacherbrück ) was a German politician ( SPD ).

Life

Theodor Asholt attended the elementary school in Friedrichsdorf from 1901 to 1908 and passed the Abitur at the Gymnasium Gütersloh in 1908. From 1908 he studied philology in Göttingen and Münster. From 1914 to 1918 he did military service. After the war, he passed his state examination in 1919 and the assessor examination in 1920. In 1928 he was promoted to Dr. phil. PhD. After completing his studies, he worked as a teacher and became a teacher in Herne in 1927 and in Cologne in 1929. After the seizure of power by the Nazis, he was released. He trained as a gardener from 1934 to 1936 and worked as a fruit grower in Echternacherbrück from 1937 to 1949. In between he was a training officer in Saarburg in 1939 until he was discharged from the Wehrmacht in 1940. From 1949 to 1955 he was a senior teacher at the Max-Planck-Gymnasium Trier .

politics

Before 1933, Asholt was district chairman of the German Peace Society for the Upper Rhine Province and a member of the Democratic Party . In 1939 he became a member of the NSV .

After the war he became a member of the SPD in 1945 and was a member of the district assembly and district assembly of Bitburg for his party from 1946 to 1960 and a member of the Echternach office in 1952. He was a member of the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament in the first two electoral periods from 1947 to 1955. In the state parliament he was chairman of the border region committee and a member of the cultural and social policy committee. At the end of the 1950s he became a member of the German Peace Union (DFU). From 1958 to 1965 he was chairman of the Echternacherbrück public education center.
