Theodor Pritsch

Theodor Pritsch (born October 16, 1900 in Budweis ; † October 17, 1974 in Linz ) was an Upper Austrian politician ( CS / ÖVP ) and police officer. He was councilor of the city of Linz, from 1945 to 1966 a member of the Upper Austrian state parliament and from 1955 to 1966 regional councilor in the Upper Austrian state government .

education and profession

Pritsch graduated from primary and secondary school and worked between 1918 and 1927 as an employee of the municipal authorities in Linz. In 1927 he moved to the Federal Police Directorate in Linz and worked as an auditor, where he rose to the real council. After the National Socialists came to power, he was arrested in 1938 and dismissed from service in 1939, whereupon Pritsch worked as an accountant in Marchtrenk at the Sternmühle. In the autumn of 1940 he was again imprisoned for more than a month on suspicion of high treason. After the Second World War, he worked from 1945 to 1955 as the head of the presidential office of the Linz police department. In 1954 he was appointed to the government council.

Politics and functions

From 1914, Pritsch was a member of the Reich Association of Austrian Catholic Youth and in 1918 became a member of the Christian Social Party. He was also a member of the Nibelungia Middle School Cartel Association. began his political career as a local councilor in Linz, where he represented the Christian Social Party of Austria between 1930 and 1934. Afterwards he was a member of the Linz municipal council as a professional group representative of the public service from 1934 to 1938. In 1945 Pritsch was one of the founders of the Austrian Workers 'and Salaried Employees' Association, and was subsequently active as chairman of the Upper Austrian regional group of the Workers 'and Salaried Employees' Association between 1960 and 1966. Furthermore, he worked from 1960 to 1966 as deputy chairman of the Upper Austria regional group of the Austrian People's Party and represented the ÖVP Upper Austria from September 13, 1945 in the Upper Austrian state parliament. On November 19, 1955, Pritsch was sworn in as a provincial councilor in the Upper Austrian provincial government, where he was responsible for sports and became head of personnel for the state employees and a housing specialist. On October 19, 1966, Pritsch resigned from the state government as a state councilor or as a member of the state parliament.

Pritsch was born the son of a railway official and was married from 1924 and father of two children.
