A therapy pillow is a physiotherapeutic and occupational therapy aid. It is used to strengthen the back muscles , to train the pelvic floor and for post-treatment after fractures in the pelvic area. Furthermore, to increase the perception of body movement and position in space ( proprioception ) in the context of movement training , as well as for occupational therapy treatment of children with developmental or learning disorders ( sensory integration ).

The mostly plate-shaped therapy pillows are filled with air and have a height of approx. 8 cm. They have a diameter of 33 to 50 cm. In addition to the round ones, there are also wedge-shaped or square shapes.

Usually you sit on the therapy pillow. Due to the unstable surface, the muscles in the pelvic and back area are trained, body tension increases, the sense of balance is stimulated and attention is increased.
