Therese Eunicke

Therese Eunicke , born Therese Schwachhofer ( November 24, 1774 in Mainz - March 16, 1849 in Berlin ) was a German actress and opera singer ( soprano ).

Life

Therese Eunicke, daughter of violinist Ignaz Schwachhofer , had been on the stage since 1793 and, after various engagements in Mainz, Amsterdam and Frankfurt am Main, came to the Royal National Theater in Berlin in 1796. Appreciated in the field of comic opera and also in comedy as soubrette, she retired in 1830 and died on March 16, 1849 in Berlin. She was buried in the cemetery of the Dorotheenstadt and Friedrichswerder communities next to her husband Friedrich.

From 1797 she was the second wife of the tenor Friedrich Eunicke , with whom she had daughters Johanne and Katharina , who also became actresses.
