The Church of Teresa of Ávila and Johannes (Polish: Kościół św. Teresy od Jezusa i św. Jana od Krzyża ) in Kraków is a Catholic Baroque church at 44 Mikołaja Kopernika Street in the Wesoła district .

history

The church was built for the Discalced Carmelites between 1720 and 1730 . Founder was Jan Sebastian Szembek , whose brother Bishop Christoph Andreas Johann Szembek consecrated the church in 1730. The Discalced Carmelites moved here from the monastery at Kraków's Martinskirche in Kraków's old town . In the altar is a painting of the church patron commissioned by the donor. There is a baroque column in front of the church. The Ubryk affair from the middle of the 19th century is connected to the monastery .
