Thieboudienne

Thieboudienne ( Wolof ceebu jën ) is a traditional dish from Senegal .

The expression comes from the Wolof and means something like "fish with rice". The food is mostly prepared from fresh “figud'indi” and / or Macco.

The fish is filled with an onion and herb mixture and after cooking is added to the rice; Both are then mixed with sauce and vegetables.

The preparation is quite time-consuming and takes about two hours.

Thieboudienne is a popular festival dish in West African countries.
