Otumfuo Osei Tutu II (born May 6, 1950 ) is the 16th Asantehene , the Ashanti people in Ghana .

He ascended the golden chair , the symbol of the royal dignity, on April 26, 1999. With his name he places himself in the direct successor of the founder of the Ashanti Kingdom , Otumfuo Osei Tutu I. Osei Tutu II. Was born on May 6, 1950 and called Barima Kwaku Dua. He is the youngest of the five children of Nana Afua Kobi Serwaa Ampem II, Asantehemaa (Queen Mother of the Ashanti).

He received his education at the North London Polytechnic, now London Metropolitan University . This university also awarded him an honorary doctorate in philosophy on January 11, 2006 .

One of his nephews is the Ghanaian-American professional wrestler Prince Nana .
