Thilo Steinbach

Thilo Steinbach (born May 15, 1963 in Berlin ) is a German politician ( CDU ) and management consultant.

After graduating from school, Steinbach completed an apprenticeship as a construction worker. He then worked in the publicly owned company WAB Berlin in the operational area of ​​the Berlin-Falkenberg sewage treatment plant before studying civil engineering and water management at an engineering school in Berlin. Later he took up a distance learning course at the “Josef Orlopp” School for Foreign Trade.

In 1985 Steinbach joined the GDR CDU and became a member of the CDU's Latin America group. According to media reports, he played a key role in Lothar de Maizière's being appointed party chairman of the CDU on November 10, 1989. After his election as Prime Minister of the GDR in the Volkskammer election on March 7, 1990, Lothar de Maizière made him his foreign policy advisor and member of the delegation in the negotiations on the two-plus-four treaty . In the media, Steinbach was therefore referred to as the " Teltschik of the GDR". After de Maizière resigned because of his exposure as IM "Czerny", Steinbach also left the federal political level.

Steinbach is the sole managing director of MULT-Consult (Berlin).
