Thistle Alpha

Thistle Alpha is a production platform for oil in the North Sea . It is located about 190 kilometers northeast of Shetland . It is operated by the Swedish company Lundin Petroleum . The production is around 200,000  barrels daily. In a fire on November 25, 2007, 116 of the 159 people employed on the platform had to be evacuated by helicopter.
