Lundin Energy AB (formerly Lundin Petroleum) is a Stockholm-based group of companies that is active worldwide in the production of oil and natural gas .

Lundin Petroleum operates plants in France, Tunisia, Norway, Russia, the Netherlands, Indonesia, Great Britain and is also active with exploration projects in Vietnam, Cambodia, Congo (Brazzaville), Malaysia and Ireland. The company has reserves of around 265 million barrels of oil equivalent (MMboe) and a production capacity of 35,000–42,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day (boepd).

Lundin Petroleum AB was founded in 2001 after Lundin Oil AB was taken over by the Canadian Talisman Energy . The company is listed on the Stockholm Stock Exchange and was included in the Swedish OMX Stockholm 30 stock market index until January 2, 2018 .

criticism

The freelance journalist Kerstin Lundell claims in her book "Affärer i blod och olja" ("Business in Blood and Oil") that Lundin Petroleum was involved in human rights abuses in Africa . For example, shootings, the burning of villages, etc.

On June 8, 2010, ECOS ( European Coalition on Oil in Sudan ) published the report "Unpaid Debt". It calls on the states of Sweden, Austria and Malaysia to investigate allegations of breaches of international laws by Lundin, OMV and Petronas in the years 1997-2003.

On July 1, 2011, journalists Johan Persson and Martin Schibbye were arrested in Ogaden . They were in the country doing research on Lundin Petroleum. Since October 18, they have been on trial in Addis Ababa for offenses against Ethiopia's anti-terrorism laws .
