Thomas Cook statue
The Thomas Cook statue is a bronze statue by the British sculptor James Walter Butler .
It is located on the corner of London Road and Station Street, north-west of Leicester Railway Station , England. The bronze statue commemorates Thomas Cook (1808-1892), who in 1841 organized the first known commercial mass trip from Leicester to Loughborough . Butler created the sculpture in 1993. It was unveiled on January 14, 1994 by Thomas Cook, a great-great-grandson of Cook.
