The Taunusviertel in Idstein, built by Dietmar Bücher

The company Dietmar Bücher Turnkey Construction from Idstein in Hesse is an investor and developer in the Rhine-Main area .

Field of activity

The company only realizes turnkey objects. Initially, both construction and architectural services were offered. However, the focus was then on the execution of turnkey objects, mainly in residential construction. In the meantime, entire districts are often built. By 2015 the company had already built and sold around 12,000 apartments on an area of around one million square meters with a total value of over two billion euros.

Corporate management

The predecessor company was founded in 1969 by Dietmar Bücher , who was born in 1944 as the son of a farmer . Dietmar Bücher heads the company to this day. The designated successor is his son Achim Bücher, who has been with the company for years.

Controversy

In some cases, it is viewed critically that entire city districts are created optically uniform with buildings of books. In addition, buildings are created that, from the point of view of residents, do not fit into the existing development due to their size or architectural style . For example, the Idstein citizens' initiative “Meine Altstadt” (My Old Town) and the Idstein campaign alliance “Idstein preserves its face” took action against a building project in Escher Strasse, directly above Idstein’s old town. The company also buys up land , often in order to keep it undeveloped for many years. This stockpiling is criticized by some in times of scarce living space, the property developer points out that delays in the development were often based on problems under construction law. The initially approved, but controversial construction project Feldbergblick / Hahnwald on the outskirts of Niedernhausen would have led to the deforestation of a forest worthy of protection and was therefore highly controversial. After citizens' protests , the Niedernhausen municipal council determined that the forest in question needed special protection and should be classified as a protective or ban forest . In 2013, the company tried to build a large shopping center in Idstein, which, in addition to the bus station, was to include parts of the old town . However, this project failed due to the resistance of the Idstein citizens. However , the company Bücher had already acquired numerous listed buildings in Idstein's old town that were to be included in the shopping center. It is believed that the company has since left it empty, which is criticized by Idstein citizens and the Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen party . In their opinion, these properties should be rented to revitalize the old town. According to its own statement, the company continues to work on the project to develop the bus station area with a shopping center.
