Udo gloss
Udo Glanz (born July 10, 1972 in Ulm ) is a German educator , author and publisher in Freiburg im Breisgau . He is considered one of the pioneers in the introduction of work and school MOOCs in the German-speaking area through publications and teaches this form of learning at Freiburg universities. A practical example of a MOOC can be found in the EU project Biofector .
Live and act
She attended primary school in Staig (Alb Donau district) and secondary school in Ulm-Wiblingen. After completing an apprenticeship as an industrial mechanic at IVECO Magirus , he acquired the subject-specific higher education entrance qualification at the Technical High School Ferdinand von Steinbeis School in Ulm. This was followed by a teaching degree at the University of Education in Freiburg im Breisgau. After his legal clerkship in Pfullingen and Reutlingen , he became a teacher at the trade school and Theodor-Heuss-Realschule in Lörrach . He was particularly interested in new teaching methods, which is why he turned to MOOCs and expanded them into a new format, the P4P (peer-for-peer) MOOCs. In 2006 he founded the Glanz Verlag , which initially published educational games. Due to a lack of German-language literature on the MOOC topic, Glanz began his doctoral studies in 2012, which he completed with the dissertation Digital Discourse Culture in Education. Basics of communication science, analysis of online forums and conclusions regarding the conception of an educational portal and received a doctorate in philosophy at the University of Education in Freiburg. In his doctoral thesis he analyzed portals (e.g. Wikipedia, YouTube, Facebook) with regard to educational discourse quality criteria. Several publications followed. Udo Glanz is married and has children.
