Thomas Bettermann

Thomas Bettermann (born February 2, 1956 in Dortmund ) is a German musician ( keyboards , composition) of jazz rock .

Bettermann received piano lessons from the age of seven. Volker Kriegel brought him in 1976 to succeed Rainer Brüninghaus in his Mild Maniac Orchestra , with whom he toured for a decade, played at the Montreux Jazz Festival and the JazzFest Berlin and recorded eight albums. He can also be heard on the Biton Grooves productions. He also worked with rock bands like Messalla and Klaus Lage's group , with Bernd Strohm, with Super Session , with Ginger Baker and with Jonas Hellborg . He also wrote film scores and worked as a lecturer. In 1993 he produced the group Dob Russkin , in which he was also involved. According to the Rough Guide Jazz , the musician influenced by Joe Zawinul is one of the most important exponents of German jazz rock.
