Thomas Burgartz

Thomas Burgartz (born April 10, 1970 ) is a German economist . Since 2003 he has been a lecturer at the private University of Applied Sciences Business and Information Technology School (today University of Applied Sciences Europe ) in Iserlohn . He is the dean of the business department and director of the Bachelor's program in Business & Management Studies and the Master’s program in Corporate Management .

Thomas Burgartz studied business administration and engineering at the TU Dortmund and the University of Duisburg-Essen . He worked as a research assistant at the Chair of Corporate Accounting and Controlling at TU Dortmund University and received his doctorate. After projects abroad, he accepted a teaching position at BiTS in Iserlohn in the 2003/2004 winter semester . In 2008 he received the professorship there and two years later became the course director for Business & Management Studies and Corporate Management . His research and teaching focuses include customer relationship management, marketing and sales management and controlling , as well as event management and controlling.

Thomas Burgartz is chairman of the Dortmund-based company for controlling and was head of the Controlling Academy founded by Thomas Reichmann - company for corporate analysis .
