Thomas Reichmann (born August 2, 1938 in Berlin ) is a German economist , pioneer in controlling and retired university professor .

Life

Reichmann studied economics from 1958 to 1963 at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main . After receiving his doctorate in 1966, Reichmann dealt in his habilitation thesis in 1972 with the determination of lower and upper price limits in industrial companies. After his habilitation in Frankfurt in 1972, he accepted an appointment at the Technical University of Dortmund . There he founded the chair for corporate accounting and controlling. He was also involved in setting up the Business and Information Technology School (BiTS) in Iserlohn (Laureate Education, Inc.) and is President of the Honorary Senate there.

Reichmann has been organizing the German Controlling Congress (DCC) since 1985. The DCC is an important platform for specialists from science and practice throughout Germany. In 1988 Reichmann founded the Controlling Innovations Center (CIC). Since then he has been the managing partner of the CIC. The range of services offered by the Controlling Innovations Center includes the development and implementation of complete solutions for controlling and IT solutions.
