Thomas Curwen

Sir Thomas Curwen of Workington (* around 1400; † 1463 ) was an English knight .

Life

Sir Thomas was a son of Sir Christopher Curwen and Elizabeth Huddelston.

He represented Cumbria in Parliament in 1434, 1441, 1449 and 1459 and was Sheriff of Cumbria in 1450 and 1457.

Thomas Curwen was a supporter of the House of Lancaster and fought for Henry VI. during the Wars of the Roses at the Battle of Northampton (1460), St Albans (1461) and Towton (1461).

Sir Thomas died in 1463.

Marriage and offspring

Sir Thomas was married to Anne, daughter of Sir Robert Lowther.

The couple had at least two children:

  • Christopher ⚭ Anne Pennington
  • Elizabeth ⚭ John Cleburne
