Thomas Edward Cliffe Leslie
Thomas Edward Cliffe Leslie (born June 21, 1825 in the county of Wexford , † January 27, 1882 in Belfast ) was a British economist .
Life
Thomas Edward Cliffe Leslie studied in Dublin and London , became a lawyer in 1848 and a professor of political economy at Queen's College in Belfast in 1853 .
He wrote mostly shorter essays, the most important of which were combined by himself into two collections: Land systems in Ireland, England and the continent (1870) and Essays in political and moral philosophy (1879).
1871 Leslie fought in his work Financial reform the indirect tax . For a number of years, Leslie had had a major work in the making which was to shed light on political economy from a historical point of view. However, while Leslie was touring the continent in 1872, the manuscript was lost as a result of an unfortunate accident.
