Thomas Jäschke (born on April 22, 1968 in Gelsenkirchen ) is a German medical IT specialist and professor for business information systems at the FOM - University of Economics and Management . In addition, Thomas Jäschke is head and spokesman for the IT management department at FOM. Thomas Jäschke has also appeared as the founder of numerous companies. He is currently managing director of Digital Avantgarde GmbH, board member of Dr. Jäschke AG and board member of DATATREE AG. Thomas Jäschke is the author and editor of, among other things, the textbook Data Protection and Information Security in Healthcare. Thomas Jäschke is also active in various companies as an external data protection officer and chief digital officer .

Life

Thomas Jäschke was born on April 22, 1968 in Gelsenkirchen and obtained his Abitur in 1987 at the Helmholtz grammar school in the Rüttenscheid district of Essen . From 1987 to 1988 Thomas Jäschke did his community service as a nursing assistant in the Alfried Krupp Hospital in Essen .

From 1989 to 1995 Thomas Jäschke studied computer science at the Technical University of Dortmund and graduated with a degree in computer science . The subject of the diploma thesis was offline analysis of time series from transcranial Doppler monitoring.

Internet Service Professional GmbH, later ISPRO GmbH, was founded in June 1996. Thomas Jäschke was significantly involved in the invention and introduction of the referral portal jesaja.net, the first web-based platform for the digital inspection of patient-related data of the hospital by the resident doctor providing follow-up treatment. The focus is on the secure exchange of data between different participants in the health care system. In 2006 ISPRO GmbH was sold to CompuGroup Medical SE. In 2008 Thomas Jäschke left the company as managing director.

In 2006 , Thomas Jäschke received his doctorate as a medical IT specialist from the University of Duisburg-Essen . Topic of the dissertation: "The patient data transfer zone in the architecture of integrated care - decentralized."

In 2008, Thomas Jäschke also obtained a Master of Science degree in business information technology , also at the University of Duisburg Essen. Topic of the master's thesis: "Secure exchange of health data in the doctor's network".

As head of the Institute for Security and Data Protection in Health Care (ISDSG) founded by Jäschke , he deals with the protection of personal data in the health care system.

Among other things, he teaches IT security, mobile computing as well as information and knowledge management networks and security management at the FOM University in the business informatics and IT management courses.

Thomas Jäschke was also dean of the FOM in the business informatics department from 2018 to 2019.

  • Compliance projects for the development of corporate processes and investment protection through audits, monitoring, coaching, appointment of the data protection officer and information security officer
  • Projects for the implementation of corporate strategies in interim management, market entry, business model development, risk management, business continuity management and expansion
  • Large-scale projects to implement management systems for data protection and information security in the healthcare sector, especially hospitals and university clinics in Germany and the DACH region
  • Project responsibilities for the implementation and control with regard to the integrated supply through IT technologies.
  • Innovation management for the systematic planning and control of projects. Evaluation and preparation of reports as the basis for business decisions for investors and founders.
