Thomas Keck (politician)

Thomas Keck (born February 2, 1963 in Reutlingen ) is a German local politician ( SPD ). He has been Lord Mayor of Reutlingen since April 2019.

Life

Since the 1990s, Keck was managing director of the German Tenants' Association in Reutlingen-Tübingen .

From 1989 to 2019 he was a member of the district council of the Reutlingen district of Betzingen , from 2004 to 2019 he was district mayor there. He was a member of the Reutlingen municipal council from 1994 to 2019, the district council of the Reutlingen district from 1999 to 2019.

On February 24, 2019, Keck was elected Lord Mayor of Reutlingen with 41.1% of the vote in the second ballot . He was just ahead of the managing director of the CDU parliamentary group Christian Schneider (* 1964), who received 40.8%. The previous mayor Barbara Bosch had not run for a third term. The inauguration took place on April 5, 2019.

Private

Keck is vice president of the Swabian Alb Association . He heads the association's Lichtensteinau as chairman.

Keck is married and has two sons.
