Thomas Knoll (medical doctor)

Thomas Knoll (born June 12, 1971 in Eberbach ) is a specialist in urology and chief physician at the Sindelfingen Urological Clinic, Sindelfingen-Böblingen Clinic, Southwest Clinic Association.

Life

Thomas Knoll attended the Michelstadt high school in the Odenwaldkreis , where he passed his Abitur in June 1990. He then studied medicine at the Universities of Heidelberg and Mannheim . After that, he was a PhD student at the University Hospital in Mannheim and was at FJ van der Woude 1998 doctorate . His habilitation in urology followed in 2005. At the same time, he studied health management at the University of Mannheim and graduated with a Master of Science degree .

After a few years as an assistant doctor in various areas of the university clinic, he became a specialist in urology and head of the Minimally Invasive Urology / Urolithiasis section in 2004 . In 2005 he became a senior physician of Urology University Hospital and 2007 by the Ruprecht-Karls-University of Heidelberg to extraordinary professor appointed. Since August 2008 he has been the chief physician of the urological clinic at the Sindelfingen-Böblingen Clinic.

Due to his clinical and experimental work, he is a recognized expert in the field of urinary calculus and prostate diseases. For many years he was chairman of the urinary stones working group of the German Society for Urology (DGU). He has been a member of the Guideline Office of the European Association of Urology (EAU) since 2014 and a member of the Scientific Office of the EAU since 2015.
