Thomas Niemietz

Thomas Niemietz (born May 2, 1977 in Düsseldorf ) is a German reporter.

Career

Niemietz studied architecture. Later he came to the Südwestrundfunk in Mainz , for which he works as a reporter. There he began his journalistic career with the young SWR program DASDING . He then worked for three years for the pop radio SWR3 and the science television magazine Odysso . In 2011, he designed the multimedia report project for the ARD theme week “Der mobile Mensch” ( around the world) . From March 18, 2011, he traveled around the globe once in 36 days with a ticket budget of 1,000 euros, visiting all five continents. He made a 150-minute documentary film. From 2012 to 2015 he traveled around the world for the now switched off station EinsPlus in the program Auf 3 Sofas durch ... (later on the sofa ... ) to discover CouchSurfing .
