ARD theme week
The ARD theme week is a format of the ARD in which the broadcasters of the ARD treat a special topic as a focus in all radio and television programs. The first theme week was broadcast in 2006. Each year a different ARD broadcaster is responsible for the theme week. In 2012, ARD was awarded the prize of the German Hospice and Palliative Foundation for its theme week on the subject of death and dying in November 2012 .
