Thomas Reiner (composer)

Thomas Reiner (* 1959 in Bad Homburg vor der Höhe ) is a German composer living in Australia .

Life

Thomas Reiner was born in Germany in 1959 and moved to Australia in 1979. He studied composition at the University of Melbourne with Keith Humble, Barry Conyngham and Peter Tahourdin and in Germany with Wolfgang Hufschmidt and Hans Werner Henze . Thomas Reiner received his PhD from the University of Melbourne in 1996. He is a professor of composition at Monash University in Melbourne . Reiner composes solo pieces, orchestral pieces and electronic music. In 1996 he founded the group re-sound . In 2003 Thomas Reiner became the Australian representative of the French society Des Amis De Claude Delvincourt .
