Thomas Rotsch

Thomas Rotsch (born October 3, 1964 in Darmstadt ) is a German lawyer and professor at the Justus Liebig University in Giessen .

Life

Rotsch studied law at the Universities of Heidelberg , Kiel and Frankfurt am Main , where he passed the first state examination in 1994 . During his legal traineeship , he worked on individual liability in large companies. Plea for the withdrawal of environmental criminal law at the University of Kiel for a doctorate in law . From 1995 to 1997 Rotsch worked as a research assistant to Erich Samson in Kiel and received his habilitation in 2005 in the field of criminal law .

In 2006 he received the call to a professorship of Criminal Law, including economic and international criminal law at the University of Augsburg . On October 1, 2011, he moved to the University of Gießen, where he is in charge of the chair for German, European and international criminal and criminal procedure law, commercial criminal law and environmental criminal law. He is also head of the Center for Criminal Compliance . In addition to his work as a professor, he is co-editor of the specialist journals ZIS and ZJS as well as of counsel for a law firm.
