Thomas Wallmersperger

Thomas Wallmersperger (born December 30, 1971 in Stuttgart , Germany ) is a German engineer, scientist and university professor who conducts research in the field of coupled multi-field problems and smart structures . Since 2010 he has held the professorship for mechanics of multifunctional structures at the TU Dresden .

Life

Thomas Wallmersperger studied aerospace engineering in Stuttgart from 1992 to 1998. After completing his studies, he worked as a research assistant at the Institute for Statics and Dynamics of Aerospace Structures. In 2002 he received his doctorate from the University of Stuttgart . The topic of his doctorate was "Modeling and simulation of stimulable polyelectric gels". Until 2010 he headed the working group "Smart Structures and coupled multiple field problems" in Stuttgart. Also in 2010 he completed his habilitation on "Electroactive materials - fundamentals, modeling, simulation, and experiments". Since April 2010 he has been a professor at the Technical University of Dresden.
