Thomas Wansch (born May 28, 1960 in Kaiserslautern ) is a German politician ( SPD ).

Career

Wansch graduated from high school in 1980 and was then a regular soldier until 1982. After graduating from the University of Applied Sciences for Public Administration in Mayen in 1987, Thomas Wansch worked for the Bad Dürkheim district from 1987 to 2003, then until 2006 as a senior official at the Kaiserslautern district administration. From 1977 he was a trainer for gymnastics and popular sports at TPSV Enkenbach . From 1983 to 1994 he was chairman of the Palatinate Gymnastics Youth , from 1993 to 2000 chairman of the Palatinate Sports Youth and from 2000 to 2010 Vice President Finance of the State Sports Federation of Rhineland-Palatinate . Since 1993 he has been chairman of the Turngau Sickingen and since 2003 chairman of the TPSV Enkenbach.

Thomas Wansch is married, has one son and lives in Sembach in the Kaiserslautern district.

Thomas Wansch has been a member of the SPD since 1998 and a board member of the SPD sub-district of Kaiserslautern since 2004. In May 2006 he was elected to the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament as a direct candidate for constituency 44 ( Kaiserslautern II ) . In the state elections in 2011 and 2016, he was able to defend the constituency.

He is chairman of the Budget and Finance Committee, a member of the Committee on European Affairs and One World and vice-chairman of the Audit Commission.
