Thomas de Witt († 1645)

Thomas de Witt (* in Dordrecht ; † January 18, 1645 ibid) was a Dordrecht patrician and regent. He came from the family De Witt .

biography

Born as the son of Nicolaas de Witt (1553–1621), councilor and Schepen von Dordrecht, and Michaëlia van Loon, Thomas was first named in 1630 as the Schepen of the city of Dordrecht . As mayor of the city he was in office in 1638, 1642 and 1643. At that time he was also active as a wind lifter for the Amsterdam Chamber of the Dutch East India Company . His marriage to Jacomina Thibauts had four children.
