Thomas Komnenos Dukas Angelos , called Thomas of Epiros , (* around 1288 ; † 1318 ) was despot of Epiros from 1296 to 1318 .

He was the eldest son of the despot Nikephorus I of Epiros and his 2nd wife Anna Kantakuzena-Palaiologina , as well as the great-nephew of the Emperor Michael VIII of Byzantium . After the death of his father in 1296, Thomas became the despot of Epiros and was initially under the rule of his mother because of his minority. In 1313 he married Anna Palaiologina , the daughter of Emperor Michael IX.
Over the succession, however, there were violent disputes and his nephew Nikola Orsini , the Count Palatine of Kefalonia . In 1318, Thomas was finally murdered by Nikola, who then became the new despot and also married Thomas' widow.
