The Thomasquelle or the Thomasloch is a karst spring near Mühlhausen in Thuringia .

The Thomasquelle is located southwest of Mühlhausen near Weidensee , directly on the Thomasteich. It is as close to nature, surrounded by trees sinkhole receive, in the midst of a field. The drainage takes place artificially into the reeded Thomasteich and over the Felchtaer Bach to Unstrut .

The Thomas Spring was created in January 1901 after a sinkhole collapsed. At that time it was 50 m deep. In 1963 divers measured a depth of only 42 m. This makes it the deepest source in Thuringia. It has a maximum bulk of the source of 140 liters / second measured but it can also completely dry. The very clear water has a hardness of about 79 ° dH.
