The Thompson Glacier is a glacier on the Banzare coast of the East Antarctic Wilkesland . It flows north to Paulding Bay .

The American cartographer Gardner Dean Blodgett (* 1925) mapped it in 1955 using aerial photographs of Operation Highjump (1946–1947). The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named him in 1953 after Egbert Dibblee Thompson (1822-1881), midshipman of the USS Peacock in the United States Exploring Expedition (1838-1842) under the direction of Charles Wilkes .
