Thorazine is a former deathgrind band from Calgary , Canada that was formed in 1996.
Band history
The band was named after the US market name of chlorpromazine . Their first release was the self-titled demo album in 1997, with which they were able to earn a certain status in the Canadian underground . They began to give more concerts and released their debut album Seed the Black Sky under the name Injected Productions in 1999 , on which they played fast, groovy Death Metal with an interplay of hissing and growls .
With this they became known beyond the national borders and achieved that the US-American Marietta based DeathGasm Records , a label that brought out bands like Fleshgrind at the time , became aware of Thorazine . In 2002 they released their second album Geneticide with fast, Grindcore based, Brutal Death Metal . Although the album sold quite well in relation to the debut, they broke up in 2004 after the release of the last album The Day the Ash Blacked the Sun with strong Thrashy grindcore influences.
