Thorben Koop (born January 31, 1997 in Lingen (Ems) ) is a German chess player . Koop's greatest successes are the tournament victory at the 41st Guernsey Chess Festival and participation in the U18 European Team Championship 2014 in Iași . He has also had the title of International Master since 2016 .

Teams

Koop played for SV Lingen until 2015 , after which he moved to SV Werder Bremen , where he played in the first and second team. For the 2019/20 season, Koop switched back to SV Lingen, but remained there without a job. In the Dutch Meester class he played for SISSA Groningen from 2015 to 2018 and in the Austrian Bundesliga from 2013 to 2019 for SV Jacques Lemans St. Veit (since 2017 SV Pillenkönig St. Veit ).

biography

Thorben Koop attended elementary school in Altenlingen / Lingen (Ems) from 2003 to 2007. From 2007 to 2015 he attended the Gymnasium Georgianum in Lingen (Ems) and graduated with the Abitur. His father Michael Koop is spokesman for the Lower Saxony district and city sports associations, member of the presidium of LSB Lower Saxony and president of KSB Emsland.
