Thorsten Zaunmüller

Thorsten Zaunmüller (born May 11, 1970 in Prien am Chiemsee ) is a German football coach . Since July 2011 he has been assistant coach at FC Bayern Munich in the women's Bundesliga .

Career

Zaunmüller is a trained sports teacher and sports physiotherapist , has an A license as a soccer coach and temporarily worked as a trainer in the girls' advancement center of the Bavarian Soccer Association in Grassau . In 2008, the FFC Wacker Munich (then 2. Women's Bundesliga South ) signed him as head coach, where he worked for two years, but could not prevent relegation to the regional league after the 2009/10 season.

In July 2010, after a long search, the FF USV Jena presented Zaunmüller as the successor to the resigned head coach Heidi Vater . His coaching staff included Sandy Mazur (from October 2010 Michael Zahn ) as assistant coach and former second division goalkeeper Daniel Kraus as goalkeeping coach. After numerous defeats in the Bundesliga (including 0: 7 against SC 07 Bad Neuenahr , most recently 1: 4 against VfL Wolfsburg ) and the elimination in the DFB Cup (0: 8 against 1. FFC Turbine Potsdam ), he was on leave after less than five months as UPS trainer. Goalkeeping coach Daniel Kraus was initially employed as an interim coach. On July 12, 2011 he was appointed as assistant coach to Thomas Wörle .
