Thorvald Otterstrom
Thorvald Otterstrom (actually Otterstrøm , born July 17, 1868 in Copenhagen , † August 16, 1942 in Chicago ) was an American composer of Danish origin.
Otterstrom was a student of the pianist Sophie Menter in Saint Petersburg . From 1892 until his death he lived as a composer and piano teacher in Chicago. In addition to canon, chorale and fugue for orchestra , choir and piano songs, he composed numerous piano pieces, including 24 preludes and fugues, seven concert studies and canon and fugue on a theme by Edvard Grieg .
