Thriving Ivory is an American rock band from San Francisco .
biography
Clayton Stroope and Scott Jason met at college in San Francisco and formed the band Thriving Ivory with three other musicians in 2002 . Her performances increased her local popularity. They produced their own album and they had a local radio hit with the song Angels on the Moon .
In 2007 they got a record deal with Wind-Up Records and re-recorded their self-produced debut. In early 2009, the album Thriving Ivory came to number one on the US Heatseeker charts and was also successful in the official album charts . Angels on the Moon was released as a single and also placed in the charts. The song sold over half a million times, making it gold .
Before the release of the second album, bassist Bret Cohune left the band. With the album Through Yourself & Back Again they came again in 2010 in the US album charts, but could not repeat the debut success.
