Thyrgrim was a German extreme metal band from Moers in North Rhine-Westphalia .
history
Thyrgrim was initially called Kaltetot as a solo project in 2004 by Kain. The group formed in 2005, in the same year the debut album Kaltetot was released on the Schwarzfront label , which also includes the demo recordings of the predecessor project of the same name. In 2014 Thyrgrim played at the Norwegian Inferno Metal Festival, among others . On May 20, 2019, Kain announced the dissolution of the group on the grounds that he could no longer achieve new innovations in the work on new songs for the group, but did not want to repeat himself and thus devalue the existing work.
style
The music is Extreme Metal , which is heavily influenced by the variety of modern Black Metal . According to texts that had Germanic - pagan and natural mystical influences, the newer publications mainly sang about misanthropic and nihilistic topics. In addition to German, there are also Norwegian-language songs.
