Tian Feng ( Chinese  田 豊 , Pinyin Tián Fēng ) is a character from Luo Guanzhong's novel The Story of the Three Kingdoms , which takes place in China at the time of the Three Kingdoms . In it he is an advisor to the warlord Yuan Shao .

After defeating rival Gongsun Zan and taking over most of his troops, Yuan Shao moves to the new capital, Xu Chang , to also defeat Cao Cao and thus bring northern China under his control. However, his advisers Tian Feng and Ju Shou advise against this plan. However, Yuan Shao's generals Shen Pei and Guo Tu persist in the campaign, and Yuan Shao has his counselors imprisoned for endangering the troops' morale.

However, Tian Feng's advice proves wise. Yuan Shao's campaign does not advance, and his generals weaken the army's fighting strength through internal hostilities.

When Tian Feng learns that Cao Cao is withdrawing his troops from the capital Xu Chang for a war against the warlord Liu Bei , he urges Yuan Shao to take the city at this opportune time. Yuan Shao refuses because his dearest son Yuan Shang is ill. Tian Feng exclaims disappointed: “What bad luck! When a unique opportunity presents itself, a child's illness spoils everything. "

After Cao defeats Cao Liu Bei, Yuan Shao decides to finally attack him. Tian Feng tries to stop him, but Yuan Shao has him locked up again. In the battle of Guandu that soon followed , Yuan Shao suffered a devastating defeat by Cao Cao. Upon hearing of this, the dungeon guards prepare to release Tian Feng, but Tian Feng says, “The Imperial Protector (Yuan Shao) is generous, but he is jealous and forgets serious advice. If he had won, he might have pardoned me. But since he was defeated in shame, I cannot hope to live. ” Indeed, Yuan Shao sentenced him to death upon his return. Tian Feng's last words are: “A able man who misunderstands his master and does not serve him properly is a fool. If I die today, it will not be because of my shame. "
