Tian Yuan (* 12. January 1975 in Shenyang ) is one of China originating Croatian table tennis player . She took part in the 2012 Olympics.

Career

Tian Yuan was born in China. In the mid-1990s she was signed by the German Bundesliga club VfB Lübeck , and in 2002 she made a guest appearance at the Austrian SV Schwechat .

Since 2007 she has played internationally under the flag of Croatia. With the Croatian club HASTK Mladost Zagreb she was active in the European Super League in the 2006/07 season . From 2007 to 2013 she took part in four world championships , but never came close to medal ranks. In 2012 she qualified for participation in the individual competition of the Olympic Games . Here she defeated Berta Rodriguez (Chile), but then retired due to the defeat against the Hungarian Georgina Póta .

In 2013 she became Croatian champion.
