from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Tide train is a slang term for a train that moves depending on the tide . This is the case when the train serves as a feeder to ferries whose timetable is also tide-dependent. Until 1988, tidal trains ran on the Jever – Harle railway to the ferries from Harlesiel to the North Sea island of Wangerooge . Today, the designated German train the appropriate shuttle - bus from the train station in Sande analogy as "Tidebus".

Also on the route Niebüll – Dagebüll on the North Sea coast of Schleswig-Holstein there were long tide-dependent connections, but these were not called "tidal trains".
