Frozen chain

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Frozen chain is the name for the distribution channel for frozen food from production to retail or to the end consumer .

According to Section 2 (4) of the Ordinance on Frozen Food (TLMV), the temperature of the food at all its points may not exceed −18 ° C after thermal stabilization. This applies until it is delivered to the consumer .

Short-term warming of up to 3 K (Kelvin) to −15 ° C at interfaces (e.g. when reloading from trucks to cold stores), in local sales (e.g. home delivery services) and in the freezers of the trade as part of honest storage and sales processes are tolerated by Section 2 (4) TLMV.

In order to comply with the temperature regulations, a complete supply chain of technical equipment such as deep-freeze warehouses , ships , refrigerated containers , railway cars , special transporters and chests is required .
