Animally Extreme (Original title: The Most Extreme ) is an American documentary animal show in which special animal characteristics such as strength, speed, limbs, diet and love life are examined in each episode. Ten species of animals are portrayed which have extreme or unusual characteristics of the corresponding characteristic. The approximately 50-minute long 77 episodes of the series were produced in New Zealand by the production company Natural History New Zealand for the pay-TV channel Animal Planet and first broadcast there on July 1, 2002. The German first broadcast secured the ZDF . In the meantime, beastly became extremealso broadcast on the German branch of Animal Planet. For a while, individual programs were broadcast on n-tv in the program Moderne Wunder . Since January 2010, the first 32 episodes have been broadcast on ZDFneo on Tuesdays at 5.30 p.m.

In addition to the ranking of the animals, the animal skills are tested in a computer animation in humans. Then people are interviewed who have a comparable character trait. In the "Super Shark" episode, for example, hammerheads were described whose eyesight and taste as well as their ability to sense voltages below a 500 millionth of a volt are extreme . The shark was then compared to human hackers driving around a neighborhood tracking down unprotected WiFi networks. In addition to the interviews, old, mostly public domain cartoons, video clips and trailers are often included.
