The Tietzowsee is located in the north of Brandenburg and is part of the Rheinsberg Lake District . To the west it is connected to the Zootzensee via the Zootzenkanal and to the north via a narrow with the Great Prebelowsee . To the south there is a connection via the Hüttenkanal (also Jagowkanal) to Schlabornsee and Rheinsberger See to Rheinsberg . The lake has an area of 44 hectares and a maximum depth of 8 meters.
The Tietzowsee is part of the Rheinsberg waters, a so-called other inland waterway of the federal government. The Eberswalde Waterways and Shipping Office is responsible .
